The 14th Doctoral Candidates Japan Research Forum between Peking University, Fudan University and Nankai University was held

On June 20, 2020, the 2020 Doctoral Japanese Studies Forum co-sponsored by the Center for Modern Japan Studies at Peking University, the Center for Japanese Studies at Fudan University, and the Japan Research Institute of Nankai University was held online in the form of a webcast, from three schools and 48 teachers and students from related institutions participated in the forum. 

The opening ceremony of the forum was presided over by Professor Fan Shiming, Deputy Director of the Center for Modern Japan Studies, Peking University, Professor Chen Peng, Deputy Dean of the Graduate School of Peking University, Ms. Shiozawa Masao, Director of the Asia-Pacific Division of the Research Department of Japan International Exchange Fund, and Japan Research Center, Fudan University 

Professor Hu Lingyuan, Director, Professor Liu Yuebing, Dean of the Institute of Japanese Studies of Nankai University, and Professor Li Hanmei, Director of the Center for Modern Japan Studies at Peking University, delivered opening speeches one after another, and the forum officially opened.



The theme of this forum is Constructing Sino-Japanese Relations that Meet the Requirements of the New Era. The doctoral students participating in the forum selected their respective concerns in Sino-Japanese relations and Japanese studies from political, economic, diplomatic, historical, cultural, and religious perspectives. 

Related issues, 12 papers were submitted, and the participants conducted enthusiastic and brilliant in-depth discussions and eager exchanges on related topics, which once again demonstrated the high academic research enthusiasm and progressive style of young scholars in the Japanese research community.
