On November 14, 2020, the academic seminar on perspectives, methods and Topics of Japanese History studies in the New Era and the 2020 Annual Work Conference of Japan Historical Society of China were successfully held in the International Academic Exchange Center of our university. The seminar was sponsored by Japan Historical Society of China, hosted by the School of Foreign Languages of our University and Hainan Literature and Public Opinion Research Center in Foreign Languages, co-organized by Hainan Jincheng Hotel in Wenchang, And attended by more than 30 experts and scholars from Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Peking University, Nankai University, Northeast Normal University, etc. Chen Xianfeng, member of the Standing Committee of the University Party Committee and vice President, was invited to attend the opening ceremony and make a speech.
At the opening ceremony, Mr. Chen Xiafeng, member of the Standing Committee, on behalf of the school, warmly welcomed all experts and scholars to our school for exchange. He briefly introduced the basic information of the university and hoped that all of you could speak freely and discuss how to promote the integrated development of relevant history disciplines and promote the construction of the disciplinary system, academic system and discourse system of history with Chinese characteristics.
In his opening speech, Professor Yang Dongliang, President of Japan History Society of China, expressed his heartfelt thanks to Hainan University for its great support in hosting this conference. He briefly reviewed the history of the society over the past 40 years and explained the purpose and significance of the meeting.
Professor Jinshan, dean of the School of Foreign Languages, who presided over the meeting, also briefly introduced the basic situation of the school and its exploration and achievements in the field of Japanese history research.

This symposium is being held at a time when the world is facing great changes unseen in a century, China's reform and opening up and social and economic development have entered a new stage, and China's external relations have entered new opportunities and challenges. Through the exchange of experiences during the 13th Five-Year Plan period, thinking and discussing the methods and problems of the study of Japanese history during the 14th Five-year Plan period, it will be conducive to promoting the in-depth study of Japanese history in China and responding to the requirements of The Times, and it will also greatly promote the development of the study of Japanese history in Hainan University.
